About Podcast

The idea for a recorded podcast came about to document Yemeni folk heritage, and the name “Recorded” was chosen for its connection to the past, when cassette tape was the available means of conveying messages of longing and nostalgia for home, family, and loved ones. In our time, audio blogs have become our way of documenting stories of the present and the past. We have many tapes filled with stories and numerous segments that discuss Yemeni songs with a true story or theme, expressed by Yemeni artists and poets in songs that touched our hearts and sometimes embodied our feelings. We also discuss our folk songs that we usually hear at happy occasions, exploring how, why, and when they were created. We sing them, and about Yemeni songs that some Arab artists have attributed to themselves without mentioning the Yemeni ownership rights to them, popular foods and their connection to food, immortal popular legends and many proverbs and situations that have popular stories.
