About Podcast

In 2021, we launched the “Minkam” podcast, which focused on the forgotten stories of Yemeni female artists, highlighting their achievements and challenges. The podcast was produced in collaboration with the Goethe-Institut and the dafayer platform, with cultural activist Feryal Magdy.
In 2024, we produced the “Lost Voices and Rhythms” podcast, which continues the journey of Minkam, featuring passionate girls from various Yemeni governorates who are dedicated to documentation and feminist work. They were trained in oral history and podcast production, with support from the Franco-German Institute, and in cooperation between Minkam podcast, the Goethe-Institut, and the French Embassy in Yemen.
Currently, we are working on producing new podcasts to document more stories of Yemeni women, using a precise methodology that includes field research and collaboration with experts from both inside and outside Yemen to ensure comprehensive and accurate documentation.
These podcasts were produced thanks to specialized workshops organized by dafayer in collaboration with creative teams and partnerships with supporting entities and donors.
